Remote drum sessions
Send me your song and I'll play a real, human drum part for it. Choose miked acoustic drums for a natural kit sound, or my electronic kit if you want MIDI and the freedom to change drum sounds later.
Most tracks delivered in 5 to 7 days. I reply to every inquiry within one business day.
What you get
Every groove and fill is played live, not programmed. You get the push and pull of a drummer reacting to your song, the way it would feel with a band in the room.
Acoustic sessions are miked in my studio for a real kit and room sound. Electronic sessions capture MIDI too, so you can swap in any drum sounds after tracking.
I play a lot of shows every year. That means listening to the singer, leaving space where the song needs it, and knowing when a fill helps and when it gets in the way.
Most tracks are delivered in 5 to 7 days. If I'm on tour when you reach out, I'll tell you up front and give you a real date.
Every package includes revision rounds, so small changes are easy and there are no surprises about what's included.
Send a song whose drum sound you love and I'll tune, mic, and play to get close to it, so the drums fit the record you're hearing in your head.
Released songs
A mix of released songs I've played drums on, across different styles. Press play and skip around.

About
I've been playing drums for close to 30 years. These days most of that happens on the road with Rocket Cat, where we play a lot of shows each year. Playing live that often has taught me the basics that matter most: listen to the singer, lock in with the bass, and leave room for the song.
I record acoustic drums in my home studio, and I'm always working on getting closer to the drum sounds on records I love, from tuning to mic placement. For projects that need MIDI, I also record on an EFNote electronic kit.
If you send me a song, I'll treat it the way I'd want my own music treated. I'll play what fits, keep you posted, and deliver when I said I would.

Questions
Every track is a real performance, never programmed. Most sessions are acoustic drums, miked in my studio. If you'd rather have MIDI, I can play the same part on my EFNote electronic kit, so the timing and feel are still mine but you can swap the drum sounds later.
Choose acoustic if you want a natural kit and room sound that's ready to mix. Choose electronic if you want MIDI, or you're not sure yet which drum sounds will fit and want to decide later. If you're unsure, send the song and I'll recommend one.
Depending on the package, you get a mixed stereo drum track and individual stems (kick, snare, toms, overheads, and room for acoustic sessions). Electronic sessions also include the MIDI file. Everything lines up at the start of your session at your song's tempo.
Most tracks are delivered within 5 to 7 days of confirming the details. I tour regularly, so if I'm on the road when you reach out I'll tell you up front and give you a real date.
A link to your song (a rough demo is fine), the tempo, and any reference tracks or notes about the feel you're after. The more you tell me, the closer the first pass will be.
WAV, AIFF, MP3, and most common audio formats. For best results, send files at 44.1kHz/24-bit or higher.
Yes. Odd meters, tempo changes, and tricky arrangements are all fine. A tempo map or click track from your session helps a lot.
Every package includes revision rounds. A round is one set of notes from you and one updated version from me. If we still aren't there after your included rounds, we'll talk it through and find a fair solution.
You do. Drum tracks are work for hire, so you're free to release, sell, and license the song. A credit is always appreciated.
